Having extensively studied the heights of lights and level of illumination  in various badminton halls we decided to go with the latest recommendation of BWF and BNZ. That means the height of the lights is lower than most of the badminton halls and illumination of the playing area is higher than most of the badminton halls in New Zealand.

Since the hall is used only for badminton purpose we do not have any requirements to keep the lights high as in the case of many halls. 

However the heights of the lights are adjustable in case the hall needs to be used for any purpose which requires more height.

Flooring

Significant amount of study and investigation was carried out to achieve the best flooring to NZ conditions. Most of the injuries in the game have been primarily due to slippery floors. The existing timber flooring in many halls tend to leak water from underneath and also requires regular maintenance & re surfacing to maintain sufficient grip to the players. Rainy days make some of the floors  unusable. Combination of concrete floor together with a high quality rubber mat cushioning and international standard PVC surface on top was considered the most appropriate, economical and maintenance free solution for the flooring. Therefore we decided to custom manufacture a special rubber mat flooring with a cushion at the bottom and international PVC badminton floor on top. This has proved to be providing excellent non slippery flooring while providing sufficient shock absorbing.

Insulation of Roof & Walls
No asbestos roofing 
In NZ the dept of labor has been working over the years to raise awareness of heath & safety issues from exposure to asbestos and therefore unlike in many old badminton Halls we decided to avoid asbestos for the roof (more details at asbestosreport-2010.pdf http://www.osh.govt.nz/publications/booklets
/asbestos-report-2010/report-2010.pdf ). The roof is made of galvanized iron with netting/insulation and the walls right round are made of solid thick concrete which provides excellent insulation and makes the hall sound proof. 

During winter times the hall is warmer than most of the halls and during summer times the hall is much more cooler than many badminton hall in the country. further 3 exhaust fans operating on top of the roof provides a gentle breeze of ventilation. The height of the roof is about 8m. The badminton game has changed completely in the last many years and there is no requirement at all in the game to hit a shuttle more than 8 m. Even the singles high services have been disappearing even at international level. So we have found that the 8m height of the hall is more than adequate for any level of competitions.

The main reception is manned during working hours and the proshop & badminton office serve the members during after working hours.

Parking Facility 
Safety and security
The property has got ample car parking with security lights in the nights and fully fenced right round except the road front entry and exit. Ideal location for Members of all ages to safely visit the centre for club and casual plays. Fully alarmed , monitored, video surveilance further strengthens the safety and security aspect of the centre. Onsite residence manager/coach makes the place more unique and make it outstanding compared to all the other badminton halls which are run in public community centres.

There is about 200 spectator seats right round the courts and both sides of the halls have got podium for clubs and groups to run their sessions or tournaments.

The badminton hall is located in a one acre land with ample car parking, on site and bare land for future expansion.

Located in the middle of East & South Auckland area and strategically located in the middle of the existing badminton Halls at ABA, Counties and Lloyd elsmore Park. 

Curtain
The Hall is divided into 2 section and 8 m big  curtain in between provides separation of the courts and also excellent visibility of shuttles during games.

On- Line Booking & computer network

On-Line booking facility was custom designed to our requirements and most of the lighting issues are handled in house by our own IT professionals unlike in all other halls. Computer is available at the hall for members to do booking and also on-line booking facility is available. Excellent computer network including a dedicated server room provides the IT infra structure to manage all the centre and club operations very efficiently.

Big TV Screen

Big screen TV is installed in the hall which displays , badminton games, coaching tips & programs, club game schedules, and all the centre notices. All big international Rugby, cricket, Netball games will be on during those times. TV will be used for fitness programs and coaching in the clubs.
