Doubles challenge is hotly contested tomorrow 3rd Dec Sat 9AM |
Thanks to all
participants & 18 teams have registered which is the full
capacity of the Badminton centre. Open section has got 8 teams and
the social section has 10 teams.
Vicious,
Delicious & High-While Intoxicated, Soup-A-Stars, Unknown,
NZBA Knights, NZBA Wizards, Gladiators, Speed Demons, The Cereal
Killers, All Stars Bombers, Kung Fu Pandas, The Noobs, Dragons,

Courts will be
available for warm ups from 8AM, all team captains are requested
to arrive before 8.45PM, all players are requested to register at
the reception from the main entrance of the Badminton Centre.
Games will start at 9AM

All rules will be explained and team names posted on the notice
board for players/teams to plan their strategies.

13 Teams have registered
for the tournament as at today. Entry closes on Wednesday the 30th. If
any other teams are still working on making up your teams, you could
register the team name and submit the names and order of the players by
Friday the 2nd. Players could register as individuals to be placed in
appropriate teams. Social teams make up have been amended to have the
lady optional.
Courts will be open from 8AM for teams & players to warm up and get
ready for the tournament.

chocolates, hot chips, sushi, sandwiches, toasted sandwiches,

NZ Badminton will be opened on the 3rd Sept at 5PM by Badminton
New Zealand President Murray Wetherston.
Limited entries are taken for the inaugural tournament and entries
close at 1Pm on Friday the 2nd Sept. Entry fee is $10/person and
the tournament commences at 2PM. Please contact the tournament

Its now open to
public for use. Every
single person who has viewed or played on
the court is very pleased with every aspect of the badminton
dedicated centre. About 10 sessions of All Stars, FUBC, FHB,
Korean Club, Comdor are already in full
swing.

Week of the Badminton Hall Renovation |

All the renovation
works have been successfully completed and the centre is on
schedule to open to public & club use as planned. Final week
of PVC mat flooring work and the painting of the lines on the mats
are currently underway.

Membership will be closed on the 15th of August. |

VIP
membership will be closed to public as soon as the Badminton hall
commences its operation. The purpose of the VIP membership
was to provide facilities and special terms to those individual
investors and lenders who have supported the new badminton Hall
venture for the purchase of the building and the renovation works.

(New Zealand Badminton Academy) has taken up their head office at
NZBC and commences all their Auckland programs from Aug 2011. NZ Top
players and international level coaches will be training at the

Painting and Garden clean up days |

9th has been allocated for the painting of the badminton
Hall inside walls. A group of volunteers will be handling this. Anyone available to contribute
towards this work either by providing labour or equipment
needed for the work are welcome.

The court mat
manufacturing is complete in China and the factory is in the
process of shipping. Thanks to former NZ coaching director Mohan
Subramanium and Goungzou badminton centre for expert advise in
getting mats manufactured with special specification and prices. |

competitive court hiring rates have been released. The court
flooring will be the best in the country and the lighting will
have 8 sets of fluorescent twins providing excellent lighting.

Ritchie
Marr, one of the best high performance coach in the country and an
experienced badminton expert in all aspects of the badminton sport
in New Zealand is appointed as the proshop manager. The proshop
will provide comprehensive services of racquet restringing, supply
of gear and expert advice to all players. |

Senthiya appointed as the CEO of the New Zealand Badminton Centre |

Dev
Senthiya takes up the role as CEO of New Zealand Badminton
Centre. He has served as ABA Board member for 3 years , heavily
involved in the development of LE Park senior and junior badminton
clubs. Currently president of the LE junior Badminton club and the
All Stars badminton Club. He also has been past president of
Auckland Tamil sports club for 3 years and a patron of the club. |
